SUNDAY, 20th SEPTEMBER 2020: ISRAEL, AFRICA AND THE NATIONS
PRAYER GUIDE
ISAIAH 51:15-16 (NKJV)
15But I am the Lord your God,
Who divided the sea whose waves roared—
The Lord of hosts is His name.
16And I have put My words in your mouth; [Emphasis Added]
I have covered you with the shadow of My hand,
That I may plant the heavens,
Lay the foundations of the earth, [Emphasis Added]
And say to Zion, ‘You are My people.’”
JEREMIAH 1:9,10 (ESV)
Then the Lord put out his hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me,
“Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.
See, I have set you this day over nations and over kingdoms,
to pluck up and to break down,
to destroy and to overthrow,
to build and to plant.”
EZEKIEL 37: 3-5, 7, 9, 10
And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, you know.” Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, [Emphasis Added] O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live….
So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, [Emphasis Added] and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone…
Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, [Emphasis Added] Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on
these slain, that they may live.” So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, [Emphasis Added] and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army.
MARK 11:13-14
And seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see if he could find anything on it. When he
came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. And he said to it, [Emphasis Added] “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard it. [Emphasis Added]
MARK 11:22-24
And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, [Emphasis Added] whoever says to this mountain, [Emphasis Added] Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says [Emphasis Added] will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, [Emphasis Added] believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
GUIDING TEXT FOR THE FASTING SEASON
ISAIAH 32:1-8
1Behold, a king will reign in righteousness,
And princes will rule with justice.
2A man will be as a hiding place from the wind,
And a cover from the tempest,
As rivers of water in a dry place,
As the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
3The eyes of those who see will not be dim,
And the ears of those who hear will listen.
4Also the heart of the rash will understand knowledge,
And the tongue of the stammerers will be ready to speak plainly.
5The foolish person will no longer be called generous,
Nor the miser said to be bountiful;
6For the foolish person will speak foolishness,
And his heart will work iniquity:
To practice ungodliness,
To utter error against the Lord,
To keep the hungry unsatisfied,
And he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.
7Also the schemes of the schemer are evil;
He devises wicked plans
To destroy the poor with lying words,
Even when the needy speaks justice.
8But a generous man devises generous things,
And by generosity he shall stand.

ISRAEL, AFRICA AND THE NATIONS
Today is Rosh Hashanah, literally the “head of the year”. It is the day of the Jewish New Year. It is a time of inner renewal and divine atonement. This year, Rosh Hashanah began at sundown on Friday, 18th September 2020 and ends at sundown on Sunday, 20th September 2020. It is a time of blowing trumpets forerunning the time when that Great Trumpet of the Lord shall sound and the dead in Christ shall rise (1 Thessalonians 4:16; 1 Corinthians 15:52).
God is King of the Nations. He created the different people groups and has a plan for each one. He does as He pleases with the nations. He does not need anyone’s counsel or advice. These truths will become evident in the time ahead as God begins to deal with arrogance of men and nations.
Isaiah lived about 150 years before the exile to Babylon. He prophesied about a time when God would restore Israel to their land from Babylon (Isaiah 44:21 – 45:6). However in Isaiah 11 he prophetically saw a time when God would stretch out His hand a second time to return the Jews to the land that he promised Abraham. This time they would not only come from one place – Babylon – but from all over the world (Isaiah 11:10 -12). The mass exile of the Jews from Israel and their return back to Israel has only happen twice in history: first to Babylon and back, and second to the ends of the earth and back. The latter began about 100 years ago and continues up to this day. Both events were prophesied LONG BEFORE THEY HAPPENED by many prophets in the Bible. Our generation is witnessing the fulfillment of Isaiah 11:10-12.
Ezekiel specifically prophesied that God would first bring them back to the land he promised Abraham AND THEN sprinkle clean water on them. This a picture of a physical, national restoration followed by a spiritual restoration. There is still however much blindness among Christians to what God is doing before our very eyes, due to Replacement Theology and the spirit of anti-Semitism that gripped a large part of Christendom in the Dark Ages. Apostle Paul warns us the Gentiles not to be arrogant against the Jews (Romans 11:20) – a warning that historically has not been heeded by much of Christendom. He further predicts that God will visit Israel again and when He does, the global impact will be like a resurrection from the dead (Romans 11:15, 25, 26). Christians all over the world should be praying for this to happen because when it does happen, it will release even greater blessings to the whole world than their rejection did for the Gentiles.
Africa and Africans are mentioned in the Bible. Israel has perhaps had more dealings with Africa than with any other continent. The word Africa does not appear in the Bible because in the days the Bible was written, this continent was not known by that name. In order to understand God’s past, present and future dealings with Africa and Africans, reference must be made to the names that were used for the continent at the time the Bible was being written: the land of Ham, Ethiopia, Egypt, Cush, Put, Sheba, Libya, Cyrene, Pathros, etc. God promised through the prophets to restore many nations in the latter days. There are biblical prophetic utterances about the restoration of the peoples on the land mass we now call Africa. We believe we are in those days.
SCRIPTURES FOR PRAYER AND PROCLAMATION
ISRAEL
ROMANS 11:13-22
Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry in order somehow to make my fellow Jews jealous, and thus save some of them. For if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead? If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches. But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root of the olive tree, do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you. Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off.
ROMANS 11:25-29
Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a
partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And in this
way all Israel will be saved, as it is written,
“The Deliverer will come from Zion,
he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”;
“and this will be my covenant with them
when I take away their sins.”
As regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their forefathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
ISAIAH 11: 10-12
In that day the root of Jesse, who shall stand as a signal for the peoples – of him shall the nations
inquire, and his resting place shall be glorious.
In that day the Lord will extend his hand yet a second time to recover the remnant that remains of his people, from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the coastlands of the sea.
He will raise a signal for the nations and will assemble the banished of Israel,
and gather the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
EZEKIEL 34: 12-13
As a shepherd seeks out his flock when he is among his sheep that have been scattered, so will I seek out my sheep, and I will rescue them from all places where they have been scattered on a day of clouds and thick darkness. And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them into their own land.
EZEKIEL 36:8-10
“But you, O mountains of Israel, shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to my people Israel, for they will soon come home. For behold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown. And I will multiply people on you, the whole house of Israel, all of it. The cities
shall be inhabited and the waste places rebuilt. And I will multiply on you man and beast, and they shall multiply and be fruitful. And I will cause you to be inhabited as in your former times, and will do more good to you than ever before. Then you will know that I am the Lord.
EZEKIEL 36:19
I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries. In
accordance with their ways and their deeds I judged them.
EZEKIEL 36:22-38
“Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: It is not for your sake, O house of
Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came. And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. And the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Lord God, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes. I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land. I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.
And I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses. And I will summon the grain and make it
abundant and lay no famine upon you. I will make the fruit of the tree and the increase of the field abundant, that you may never again suffer the disgrace of famine among the nations. Then you will remember your evil ways, and your deeds that were not good, and you will loathe yourselves for your iniquities and your abominations. It is not for your sake that I will act, declares the Lord God; let that be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel. “Thus says the Lord God: On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be rebuilt. And the land that was desolate shall be tilled, instead of being the desolation that it was in the sight of all who passed by. And they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden, and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.’ Then the nations that are left all around you shall know that I am the Lord; I have rebuilt the ruined places and replanted that which was desolate. I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it.
“Thus says the Lord God: This also I will let the house of Israel ask me to do for them: to increase their people like a flock. Like the flock for sacrifices, like the flock at Jerusalem during her appointed feasts, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am the Lord.”
AMOS 9:14,15
I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel,
and they shall rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them;
they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine, and they shall make gardens and eat their fruit.
I will plant them on their land, and they shall never again be uprooted
out of the land that I have given them,” says the Lord your God.
JEREMIAH 31:35,36
Thus says the Lord, who gives the sun for light by day
and the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night,
who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar – the Lord of hosts is his name:
“If this fixed order departs from before me, declares the Lord,
then shall the offspring of Israel cease from being a nation before me forever.”
PSALM 122:6-9
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May they be secure who love you!
Peace be within your walls and security within your towers!”
For my brothers and companions’ sake I will say, “Peace be within you!”
For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your good.
AFRICA
GENESIS 10: 6, 10
The sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan. The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca….
These are the sons of Ham, by their clans, their languages, their lands, and their nations.
PSALM 78:51
He struck down every firstborn in Egypt, the firstfruits of their strength in the tents of Ham.
PSALM 105:23
Then Israel came to Egypt; Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
PSALM 105:27
They performed his signs among them and miracles in the land of Ham.
PSALM 106:21, 22
They forgot God, their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt,
wondrous works in the land of Ham, and awesome deeds by the Red Sea.
PSALM 72:15
Long may he live; may gold of Sheba be given to him!
May prayer be made for him continually, and blessings invoked for him all the day!
ISAIAH 60:6
A multitude of camels shall cover you, the young camels of Midian and Ephah;
all those from Sheba shall come.
They shall bring gold and frankincense, and shall bring good news, the praises of the Lord.
PSALM 68:30
Rebuke the beasts that dwell among the reeds, the herd of bulls with the calves of the
peoples.
Trample underfoot those who lust after tribute; scatter the peoples who delight in war.
Nobles shall come from Egypt; Cush shall hasten to stretch out her hands to God.
ISAIAH 19: 18-25
In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the Lord at its border. It will be a sign and a witness to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt. When
they cry to the Lord because of oppressors, he will send them a savior and defender, and deliver them. And the Lord will make himself known to the Egyptians, and the Egyptians will know the Lord in that day and worship with sacrifice and offering, and they will make vows to the Lord and perform them. And the Lord will strike Egypt, striking and healing, and they will return to the
Lord, and he will listen to their pleas for mercy and heal them. In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and Assyria will come into Egypt, and Egypt into Assyria, and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians.
In that day Israel will be the third with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth, whom the Lord of hosts has blessed, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance.”
THE NATIONS
JEREMIAH 10:6,7
There is none like you, O Lord; you are great, and your name is great in might.
Who would not fear you, O King of the nations? For this is your due; for among all the wise ones of the nations and in all their kingdoms there is none like you.
ISAIAH 40:13-18
Who has measured the Spirit of the Lord, or what man shows him his counsel?
Whom did he consult, and who made him understand?
Who taught him the path of justice, and taught him knowledge,
and showed him the way of understanding?
Behold, the nations are like a drop from a bucket, and are accounted as the dust on the scales;
behold, he takes up the coastlands like fine dust.
Lebanon would not suffice for fuel, nor are its beasts enough for a burnt offering.
All the nations are as nothing before him, they are accounted by him as less than nothing and
emptiness.
To whom then will you liken God, or what likeness compare with him?
ISAIAH 40:21-24
Do you not know? Do you not hear? Has it not been told you from the beginning?
Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them like a tent to dwell in; who brings princes to nothing, and makes the rulers of the earth as emptiness. Scarcely are they planted, scarcely sown, scarcely has their stem taken root in the earth, when he blows on them, and they wither and the tempest carries them off like stubble.
DANIEL 2:21
Daniel answered and said:
“Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, to whom belong wisdom and might. He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding
DANIEL 4:34-35
At the end of the days I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to heaven, and my reason returned to
me, and I blessed the Most High, and praised and honored him who lives forever,
for his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom endures from generation to
generation;
all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does according to his will
among the host of heaven
and among the inhabitants of the earth; and none can stay his hand
or say to him, “What have you done?”
HAGGAI 2:1-9
Fear not. For thus says the Lord of hosts: Yet once more, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land. And I will shake all nations, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord of hosts. The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, declares the Lord of hosts. The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts. And in this place I will give peace, declares the Lord of hosts.’”
WORSHIP GOD THE KING OF THE NATIONS
PSALM 46:8-11
Come, behold the works of the Lord, how he has brought desolations on the earth.
He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
he burns the chariots with fire.
“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!” The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

PROCLAMATION FOR ISRAEL, AFRICA, AND THE NATIONS
A Declaration Of What We Are Praying For And What We See As God Answers Prayer
God is restoring Israel, Africa, and the nations
ISRAEL
God is restoring Israel spiritually as He sprinkles clean water on them after restoring them to
the land He promised Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
Israel will come to know the God of their forefathers and recognize Jesus Christ as Yeshua – the
Promised Messiah.
The veil cast over their eyes is being lifted.
Their return to the God of their fathers is releasing an avalanche of blessings to the nations.
AFRICA
God is raising leaders for Africa that will drive the restoration process in righteousness, justice,
mercy and truth.
These leaders will be as a hiding place from the wind and a cover from the storms that are blowing
across the world.
They will be a source of refreshment and renewal for the African Continent
as rivers of water in a dry place.
They will be a covering from the heat that has come upon this generation, just like
the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
Through their leadership the African Continent will turn around.
The eyes and ears of Africans will open up so that our eyes will not be dim, neither will our ears be
dull.
Those who are rash, careless and ignorant will gain understanding of knowledge, and
the tongue of the stammerers will be trained to speak plainly.
Wisdom and honor will be restored to their true meanings in the leadership of African nations.
Generosity will abound.
Foolishness and wickedness will be despised and overthrown.
The corridors of power will be locked up for idolaters; the corrupt; those who practice iniquity and ungodliness; those who utter error against the Lord; those who scheme evil and devise wicked plans to destroy the poor with lying words; those who keep the hungry unsatisfied; and those who cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.
Rather the generous and upright will stand and the righteous will flourish.
Africa’s people and resources will be redeemed to serve the original resources they were
created for.
The noise of foreigners over the continent will be silenced as God tramples underfoot those who lust after Africa’s wealth and resources and scatters those that orchestrate wars on the Continent.
Nobles like the Ethiopian eunuch of Acts 8 will arise from Africa and Africans will hasten to lift
up their hands to God.
Our dignity and self-respect as African people is being restored.
Africa is being restored to being a continent of blessing and refuge for the world.
THE NATIONS
God is shaking the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land.
He is shaking global financial systems and structures.
God is shaking all nations and bringing in their treasures for the establishment of His Kingdom
on earth.
The glory of what He is doing in these latter days will eclipse the glory of all He had done before
in history
God will be exalted in the earth.
God will be exalted in the nations.
AMEN
